This is an original letter that I made from one of Laurie’s kids, Meredith Lauren to her.

Dear Mom,

Hi, it’s your 2nd child speaking. I know I probably don’t say it often, but I want to say that I am so proud of you. You may know this already but I wanted to make sure that you 100% knew how I feel. Once again, I’m proud of you. I remember as I was growing up, you would tell me stories about when you was a kid. Listening to those stories you told about you and grandpa would always make me wonder how did you two get through all of these things. How was you able to cope after the experiences you had to go through? Then as I got older and saw the way you took care of things, I knew that the only reason you was able to get over and cope about everything was because you was strong. You was so strong that nothing could stop you. Anything that would get in your way, you would just brush it to the side and keep going.

I envy you mom. I don’t think any other child can say that their mother is as unique and strong as mine. Yes you published many books and yes you’ve won many awards, but that’s not the total reason to why I’m proud of you. I’m proud of the fact you strive to be the best even when you already are, that there is no limit to your success. I love you mom, I really do and I’m proud of saying that. Thank you for everything you’ve done and then you still do more. Taking care of 4 kids and still writing books. That takes some skills.  Once again, thanks for everything, you’ve done many things and I know that it wasn’t easy. You’ve done many things for the family and the others, and now I think it’s time that we should take care of you now and for you to be proud of us. I love you mom.

                                Sincerly,

                                     Meredith Lauren
